My partners and I didn’t really have any hard-and-fast rules (the admin of the site was AWOL, so it didn’t matter), and I created an on-the-spot character who was actually named after a literary device. Over time, he became one of my favorite characters, just because I could do crazy stuff with him that none of my other characters could and he was so goofy and fun to write.
